CoLab is a research tool run by Honrly Inc.. By using the site, a workspace, or a board, you agree to these terms and the Privacy Policy.

The product

Workspace admins author studies, invite respondents, and export what comes back. Respondents complete days on a board. We host the software; we do not design your discussion guide or guarantee a sample.

Accounts

Keep credentials to yourself. Researchers are responsible for who they invite and for the questions they publish. If you are a respondent, the password you set works for every board in that workspace.

Research data

The workspace that runs a study is responsible for how respondent data is used, for telling people why they were invited, and for any incentive. Respondents agree that answers, recordings, and uploads may be reviewed, transcribed, coded, and exported by that research team. Do not submit other people’s personal data unless you have the right to do so.

Acceptable use

Do not probe the product for weaknesses, scrape other people’s answers, impersonate a researcher, or use a board to collect data you have no lawful basis for. We may suspend a workspace or respondent that puts the service or other people at risk.

Our role as processor

For study content, Honrly Inc. processes personal data on documented instructions from the workspace (the controller): host it, show it to authorized researchers, generate transcripts or summaries when those tools are on, and delete it when the project is deleted or a verified request says to. Availability and liability

We aim to keep boards up during fieldwork. We do not warrant uninterrupted service. To the extent the law allows, Honrly Inc. is not liable for lost completes, lost media, or decisions made from coded themes. Some places do not allow these limits; they apply only as far as they can.

Changes

We may update these terms. Continued use after a posted change is acceptance. If a change is material, we will note the new effective date on this page.
